It'd be difficult now that I have a respectable 8-4 job, but I'd be interested if we figured out the logistics.
I'll see what happens. We could make this an annual tradition of games based on frilly and epicene music! And I may even have a germ of an idea.

You work for your national spy/intelligence agency.
You work as a statistician.
You work for Google.
You work for some consumer data gathering operation.
You work as any combination of the above.
At one point I considered applying for an advertised position at one of our spy agencies. They discourage talking about whether you have actually made an application or what for, never mind whether you got the job.
I will say I gave great thought to the morality of the work, extending to the possible effects of people reconsidering due to ethical concerns causing a skew in the kind of people applying leading to an environment where those concerns become reality when they wouldn't have otherwise.
Obviously I wouldn't be saying this much if I had the job. Unless I was counting on my relative candidness making it seem like I wasn't a spy. In which case I wouldn't have said that, so obviously I'm no spy.

Well, I don't think you would have said it so evasively if you worked for something other than your national spy agency. You probably wouldn't have mentioned ethics and morality because, let's face it, consumer data analysis or Google data analysis are not that important/problematic in relation to morality, and neither is analyzing tons and tons of data from scientific experiments (or any other statistical-type job I can think of off the top of my head, other than the illegal ones). And it involves loads of data and databases, which I don't think is characteristic of anything except tech companies and intelligence agencies.
I doubt you're trying to impress me since, I mean, why bother, and it would be way easier to just outright lie, as I didn't know the policies of your spy agency and probably wouldn't have bothered looking it up.
So I'll take that as a ~yes~.

Heh. Nah, the best way to tell someone isn't a spy (or spec forces soldier) is if they're slyly suggesting they might be to seem impressive or important. The real ones are just getting on with it with no one the wiser. The show boaters tend to be the receptionists or taxi drivers to the real thing at most.

There's definitely enough around the forums to work out who I am if you put in the effort, and I'm not too worried about that. But there'd be topics I would have to avoid talking about if I was officially person X from organisation Y because it might suggest inside knowledge on some of that sensitive stuff. Not that it'd be true, but the suggestion is enough of a thing to avoid.
