MC can't you just tell your students that if they hand in late then it is too late and you won't accept it. Teachers here can do it. They can also decide to accept it, but then the students have to make a deal with the teacher and set a new deadline for handing it in. Isn't such things possible in the US?

I allow late submissions but automatically take 50% off. If it is late by more than a week it's a zero.

How do you justify not giving people a chance after one attempt? I would like to know that. Since you like to do that so much.
A person may become better with time and you don't allow them.
I don't know what else I did except mistaking a day. But it's apparently enough to call me horrible and never let me try again.
Constructive criticism would be at most, what you would do in that situation.

As someone who's not far out of high school, if you let kids have any leeway with assignments they take advantage of it like crazy. It's unfortunate, but giving strict deadlines is the only way they will actually learn some responsibility

You get the syllabus at the start of the year in the US? Also quite a novel thing to have homework policy in the syllabus; is that standard?

And please, your ego wouldn't allow for any grade under a 96%

That is what it takes to get an A?
Also it probably is good for MC's ego that he didn't study/go to high school in Denmark pre 2006; at least unless his ego would be able to take only being able to get top grade in everything, but not necessarily being able to get the grade above top grade in everything.

Keep in mind lites and micros count against the same cap, so you have to wait for one of the current lites to end, but you can play and GM.

I never did hit upon the trick to get students to do homework, not even when I reminded them repeatedly that the answers were found in the appendix to the book.

I had a plan and I tried to follow it. Then you behaved ridiculous and overreacted.
We could have just continued the game. We could have started a new game after we completed it.
There was no reason for you to react as you did. It was completely unneccesary.

Also, do a Lite need to be 17 players? Can it be less?
