Of course it had plenty of players. It failed to start due to a small subset of them acting like gits. I believe the words I used at the time were "toxic environment". I stand by them, assuming I made them. There's a reason I've played relatively few games over the last four years of being active here. It has got better, which might surprise some of the new faces.

I've got that a lot. In my last game it was more than deserved but in the first two there were people bitching constantly on topics on which they clearly didn't have enough information to have an informed opinion. With regards to getting better, I think maybe they're just more docile, I cannot let myself believe this generation is actually superior in any way. Probably just ADHD meds or something. Yes, that's it.

EURO has mellowed, the old guard has mostly moved on, and the ones who have replaced them are either fine examples of human beings - eg Cliges - or too young to know how to really dig it in. Or too clearly insane to be taken seriously (or last long without getting banned).

Come to think of it, this latest crop of newbs is basically sane (well, perhaps some critical spelling errors and Wagonlitzism, but you take what you can get) compared to the likes of DG, brovah, Kai, or the Unspeakable One.
