What if I see a yellow car? Do I get to punch Euro?
u wanna go, m8?What if I see a yellow car? Do I get to punch Euro?
I never got the whole mafia obsession with 'claiming' things all the time. Our ways are much more subtle. I'd be open to trying your setup - well, I probably won't be around, but I don't mind trying it out.
What's the difference between claiming DK and claiming brutal? Isn't claiming brutal just skipping the step of claiming DK? Are the characters there just to add flavor to the roles and traits or do they have an actual effect on the game?
I have found that people on other sites post more, analyze more and use more time to do their things. We also seem more willing to admit we're going to lynch a villager on day one, or at least that this is most likely.
Also other sites where they play mafia seem to use a different win condition than we do. They win or lose as a team. As I understood it, we only consider living players on the winning side as winners. This should in theory make us more willing to protect ourselves by sacrificing a teammate and other stuff. But perhaps not getting to play the game anymore if you are lynched is enough to trigger a healthy sense of self preservation in mafia players too.
Moral victories are for chumps.Yeah I still reject the Paradox win condition, see my Sig haha
You guys would only give wins to the eleven players on the pitch at the end of extra time, no matter who started.Moral victories are for chumps.
Think of it more like a reviler coming into a tie game and ending up getting credited for the win.You guys would only give wins to the eleven players on the pitch at the end of extra time, no matter who started.

We're a fairly ruthless bunch.
And we deflect that criticism by embracing it.
This ain't the place to receive "participant" trophies.
Cute, except people can totally coast to the end and get an unearned win anyway so inaccurate.
Anyway agree to disagree. Legolas ww just ended right? With a wolf win?
Yep. Notice that in the one game I brag about in my sig I was the only winner. We like it best with only a handful of winners. That only 2 or 3 people survive is something many of us adore.
Take a look at the Hannibal game from last month. Lots of paranoid backstage shenanigans and I still lost. And I like it that way. Having few winners is a thing of beauty. The whole village or pack wins where you hail from and you're telling me about coasting to victory?
This creates an incentive for martyrs. We don't want that. They win or lose as a team.

Shan't it be a beetle? What if I see a yellow car? Do I get to punch Euro?
Indeed. Only having very few survivors is proof of a balanced setup too.We like it best with only a handful of winners. That only 2 or 3 people survive is something many of us adore.

Real question.
Why do we still have themes?
Indeed. I really loved doing th updates for all my games. For instance the update ending the second sleswig war was really good and historically correct too! I literally looked up in my books to see who died and how and when they did.Strong themes carried through updates encourage GM commitment and motivate them to do their best. A GM who wants to write the next chapter because it interests them will be paying more attention to getting it right. As opposed to not even bothering or occasionally cutting and pasting some Dickens
Not that you want to go too far in the other direction. Updates need to be up within half an hour of deadline, no matter how much sniping of votes and orders took place.
