+Agree. The US did quite a few overly-obsessed-with-Moscow things, like our opposition to Allende and to Mosadeq and even Chavez and that Guatemalam thing, and our whole sponsoring capitalist dictators everywhere. Kennan's perception of Communist parties was more than a small amount problematic (and his inclusion of the Orthodox Church quite ironic).
However, Nixon's opening to China was a step forward in that respect — despite the fact that the PRC was more staunchly Stalinist than the USSR was. I need to get working on my actual project now
