who are the cultists ?:)

You know what? I generally like to leave outings till late, but this one could have interesting repurcussions that I want to be around to answer.

JL ANOUNCEMENT

Bagricula and humancalculator are both cultists. We're going to tie them, and anyone who touches the tie dies. Wolves, much as I'd like to see you give yourselves away, it ain't worth it for a cultist in these rules.

Once we've tied them, the GA is going to protect me. Then, once you've verified the information is good, the seer can get in contact and I can hook him up with the priest. The seer can scan me tonight if he feels it is a good idea, since I am not the priest and handing you two cultists isn't proof I'm not a wolf.

This is probably a suicide mission, but for a strong JL this early it's worthwhile. Especially since the apprentices are told they're apprentices in these rules, so once I've proved my worth they can get in touch with me and I can pass them on to the seer and priest.

That is all.

I believe they're on 6 votes each right now. There are a few others with one vote, and that's it.

They've basically confessed, and I'm concerned about leaders or brutal screwing things up, so getting scanner names now would be nice.

I guess the double outing of cultists, who effectively confessed, makes for a minor note in today's news. Also, the request for scanners and such like to get in contact with the JL spokesperson, me, to get hooked up with the priest to form a mega-JL.

So yeah, pretty boring really.

Just another day in Werewolf.

Don't let the tie die in my absence :) Somebody needs to match Slinky's vote on humancalculator with one on Bagricula, I believe. Bagricula is unlikely to be on at deadline, due to his timezone being even worse than mine for it. Be wary of humancalculator, though.

Also: This is my final attempt to get seers, apprentices or GAs to contact me. I am no fool, and I have reason to be 100% confident in the priest, barring some monumental GM error. I appreciate your concern, but all it will take is one leader or one brutal to mess this up. We already have one person of interest to be seer-scanned, so the sooner you can be cleared the better.

You may think this is some wolf or sorceror plot. I assure you, I would not want to sacrifice two cultists and make myself such a high profile to do that. Indeed, I hold to the school of thought that you are a good side player more often than bad, and that this makes your reputation around JL outings vital. This is not my modus operandi as a bad player - it would smear my reputation for a long time as both villager and wolf. Nor is there any chance of me being deceived.

Best of luck.

I don't know if I am going to be able to get online over the next few days as quite a few things are happening, so it would be best if I am subbed out, rather then risk missing deadlines.

Okay, this post reeks of lies. I'm starting to think this is a clever plot to lure out the important goodies and then use the leader/brutal powers of the wolves/culties to fuck the village over.

Then again, there's also a second pack you have to account for.

Ah, sod it. I'm a dead man walking anyway, the GA can only protect me so often.

I'm the priest's backup. The priest, and only the priest, could identify that with a scan - and identify me the priest did. Incidentily, I have never met such a god of scanning to get three from three. Admittedly I did try to draw his attention to Bagricula, who I suspected, and to me as someone who was trying to get him to do things.

Neither of us can be cursed, we're both 100% certain of each of our identities. With two cultists and the backup sorceror dead, there aren't that many targets for a priest to chase - just the sorceror and maybe another cultist. As a backup I'm not really needed. I thus felt it was time to take the initiative, and pulled this stunt to try and get a mega-JL formed, with all scanners and backups united and scan lists shared.

I was prepared to take one for the team to do that, as always. Don't let that go to waste.

Edit: I wrote this before esemesas' post. All I'll say is, esemesas, you've played with me. Would I pull this as a villain for so little reward? Or indeed for any reward? It's not my style. Would I pull it as a good guy? Yes. Time and time again.

I do not like the idea of switching to third parties at the last minute unless it's a JL outing. I do not like the concept of players doing behind the scenes weird PM shenanigans. I do not like the concept of players making false statements. That isn't to say that none of these things should ever happen in any game ever. What that does mean is that villagers shouldn't try weird things in an attempt to be the hero. It is my view that such actions should only be undertaken under exceptional circumstances.

GROUP HUG!!!

Joeb, I love you! I've been saying these things often during your absence from WW, but since those times were dominated by the likes of AOK and EURO, I never got much support. I am sure things will only improve now!

Actually, I don't think I've played with you as a villain in big.

I've never been a villain in big. I have in Lite, and there my strategy is to make a whole lot of obvious mistakes while floundering around thinking I'm unnoticed, get left alive so everyone can see my packmates, then when I finally feel cornered, try telling the absolute truth because people won't believe it, finally ending with you sniping to kill all remaining wolves. I quite like that strategy :)

As for when I'm a good player, I tend to not worry about riling up the wolves, and just go for making the biggest difference I can for my team. Hence you'll see in PSL I was vocally chasing after suspects, most of whom turned out to be wolves, only to be hunted day 2 or 3. Wimbledon I stayed up for about 36 hours just to fend off an IJL with my own real JL, knowing as the spokesman I'd be hunted soon. Budget Crunch I worked with the priest right up till the end game, coming close to snatching victory from defeat only to reveal a step too early and end in a draw. Hopefully I haven't misjudged the village here, either :)
