I've not yet needed to, so I've not decided. Modular arithmetic is a good option, as long as I'm not the last person to sign up Other options include going for the person with a signup number half mine, rounding up if necessary. That's what I'm leaning towards at the moment.

Still a problem if you are numero uno...suppose you could just use the set of players who aren't you...so if you were 1, you'd vote 2; if you were 2 you'd vote 3; if you were 4, you'd vote 3...and so on.
