That depends. If you do the scanning yourself, you can half-clear somebody, at best. If you're a protector, you usually just keep it quiet, guard someone every night, and eventually hope that someone pops up who seems like a good choice to tell about your role.
I'd recommend not contacting anybody unless you're at least 90% sure they're a goodie. Obviously you can never be certain, but you can make some educated guesses based on events. And don't reveal your role in public, ever, unless it's absolutely vital to prevent your being lynched.

Huh. So generally the goodies remain disparate and divided. I always thought that JLs were infiltrated by cursed players who were just unlucky, and that there was at least a somewhat decent way of filtering out the baddies, but this is just asking for traitors and wolves to infiltrate.
This sounds like the best way. If he isn't lynched or hunted, he'll be scanned by both seer and priest (assuming both still live).
Yeah, definite problems with the idea of linking. Contact the wrong person and you are on the outs. Though, I guess one could use deception in this, something like "I am not the seer, I know the seer and am acting as his link to you. You'll be contacting everyone else." Again not surefire, and also you'll have to reveal yourself to the Guardian angel or Doctor if you find one, which again runs risks.
As I recall it Jester could only jester a specific player once per game.
Though seriously, that's actually me. Even when I'm a baddie, my analysis is usually worth taking seriously.

Sure; on the other hand it can also work really well. But it is risky.

Never really trust anybody. In general of course. There can be situations where you can; and if you are the van Helsing and super scan somebody as a non cursed villager then you can trust him 100%. Also you only know your role, so if you are up for lynch then letting yourself lynch is a really poor strategy, since you let the only person you know for certain is a goodie die (assuming you are a goodie).
Don't trust anyone. If someone tells you to vote someone, and they announce that the seer told them to do it in thread, vote for that someone. Don't trust anyone. Don't random vote. Don't say that you are a werewolf. Think before voting. Don't trust anyone. If you are a wolf, vote as you would if you were a villager. Listen to people's analysis, and if you feel confused about something, examine why you are confused. Did I mention not trusting anyone?
You forgot that besides not trusting anyone he also generally should follow what the JL says---unless the JL is suspicious. Also getting contacted by PM and asked to do something, e.g. save somebody, isn't necessarily suspicious, since it is a way to somewhat stealthily have an important goodie saved. On the other hand it can also be abused.

Seriously, though, advice is somewhat dependent on your role. Most of the ideas I gave in our pack PM from your first Lite still hold, especially the villager advice. If you are a baddie in Big, you actually have some information to figure out (besides who the seer is), like who's in the opposing pack, and you can pretend to be a villager a lot more easily. If you have a special role or traits, try to make use of them, every night if it's that kind of power and otherwise at your discretion. Those are the basics, I guess.
And this. "Don't trust anyone" is very easy advice to give, but really your job is to figure out whom you can trust and work from there.
In that case I'd be a protector, and therefore should at least be put in contact with a link from the JL. If I'm a guardian angel, and I get a random PM from someone to protect person A, I might do it, but I'd be highly suspicious.
But yeah, if you do get contacted by the JL, follow what they say unless it turns out you really shouldn't, in which case, don't follow them.
What I meant is that you might get contacted and asked to unvote x; depending on situation following that might be a good idea.
