In the 1.5 year I have played we have only needed them for Leksu who started using 1930s German terminology against players he disliked and pjnlsn who started to make pedo comments.

And I was serious about not being insulted. Here in Scandinavia it takes quite a lot to insult us; you need a lot more than swear words to insult me.

It was a simpler time, more role play, less gamey tactics, no lites. Unvoting also wasn't a big thing.

I started playing in lites in 2006. Shit only started getting real with sniping when AOK and Ironballs came along

Yep. I started in the first game started after Bloody Sunday---actually I discovered this part of the forums something like a day before signups for Bloody Sunday started, but for some reason I didn't get round to signing up before they closed. So I watched that game and signup up for the first that started after that. So technically actually only ~17.5 months, but 1.5 year is easier to say.

They were sort of there from the get go though. As I understand it, the logic of lites sort of lead to the concepts and tactics of today along the road, as people played more and more of them.

But the whole vote editing ban I never encountered back then. Splitty labelled me a noob for not knowing of it when I returned after a (I think) 7 year-ish hiatus.
