It isn't just for things like equations though. But I can see somebody not in the sciences having less use of it. Though you can also easily code things like Feynman diagrams, chemical reactions, etc. in LaTeX.
And it is really easy to handle things like citations, annotations, and chapters in LaTeX in general---that is part of the point of LaTeX.

We need to update the terminology FAQ. "Cymsdaling" is referring to a lost/modified forum feature after the change.

People are way to quick to add new terminology. Also where did Cymsdale refer to lost/modified features?
