As I read that quoted post it is Sleepy asking yakman why the GM rivaled him with a cursed man. I.e. indicating yakman easily could be a baddie.

And this is how I read it. Sleepyhead worded it poorly but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming he was asking yakman why he was rivaled with a cursed villager.

Yes, please Yakman, tell us why you think you were rivals with E_L, and why you think he was cursed. And no, you may not use E_L's own admission, or the GM's update, to demonstrate these facts.

I think you're misinterpreting his statement. He knows they're rivals, and that E_L is cursed. But he is using this to suggest this may mean Yakman is a wolf. I'm ambivalent either way, he could still be a wolf, but you are misreading him.

Then why ask Yakman to explain? What could Yakman possibly explain?

Either:

"GM paired me, a wolf with nocturnal hunting ability, with a cursed villager so that I would hunt him and make my pack stronger."

Or:

"I don't fuckin know, I had no clue he was cursed until he died, but I'm just a rival villager with no control over what the GM does."

There's not much for Yakman to say to that. We're not asking him to defend his words or voting behavior, but what the GM did; and we're not even drawing the obvious conclusion; ie, yes, your rival was a villager, but there is a CHANCE you may still be a wolf, so how do you defend yourself?" It's a nutty line of reasoning.

He did the same thing last game. He was a non-villager then but I think he was an important goodie. Even if he isn't something interesting now this is not the kind of behaviour that helps the village. Well unless of course he is an important goodie again.
