Somehow, even without my enlightening leadership bringing us forward,we wolves were startlingly good
That actually sounds fun.Yes, I had to eliminate both packs.
The GM included me in the PM to the packs, something like this:
"You are the Danish pack. EKjeldsen, Wagonlitz and johho888 are wolves. EKjeldsen has a cultist, Arne Fougstedt. Wagonlitz is brutal. You hunt even numbered nights"
"You are the Finnish pack. Olaus Petrus, Finnish Dragon and johho888 are wolves. Finnish Dragon has a cultist Jopi. Olaus Petrus is brutal. You hunt odd numbered nights"
"You are really in the Swedish pack. johho888 is wolf. You have no cultist. You don't get to hunt until one pack is eliminated when you take over their hunt nights. You can not win as part of the Danish or Finnish packs."
[nitpick]Finland isn't part of Scandinavia---only Denmark, Sweden and Norway are; Finland is part of the Nordic Countries.[/nitpick]Is Olaus Finnish? Was ever sure which Scandinavian part he came from.
And to those of you who don't know, Helsingfors is the Scandinavian (and German?) name for Helsinki.Yes, Olli Pekka or something like that is his real name. Olaus Petrus is what it would be in Latin. IIRC he was (is?) working on a PhD in history at the university in Helsingfors.
I was kind of mad about the spy report on me being used as evidence against me, since who in his right mind would not lock his door when people are being murdered at night? But I was a wolf, so I guess it's a fair cop; people seemed suspicious of me anyway, for other unarticulated reasons.
Once you die you are no longer part of the game, go find something else to do for a week and let the players play.
Hey I only went for that the last day, because I saw I was very close to 500 posts. Yes I did post much after I died, but much of that was relevant, since I did the counts.without having dead people vying for the honor of top poster.
Yes, and I think you balanced everything quite well. That I didn't think so during the game is actually not a problem as long as I am wrong, in fact I should feel I am at a disadvantage while playing, because what fun would it be if I felt I was invulnerable and just were crusing to victory? The only problems I had with your GMing this game was the bragging about how really big the game was while at the same time whining about how much work a really big game was for you. A minor issue was also that I like GMs to get the updates up within reasonable time after the deadline on most days and when they can't do that at least tell us in advance so we know when it pointless to wait up for the update (and scan reports if you have a role like that). But I'm Swedish and we have this thing for punctuality...I considered 8.5%, but 5% would definitely have been too small, everything else considered. With no seer, I wanted witnesses to have a powerful effect on the game. They were a critical part of the set-up. Their proportional power was a feature. Just because certain roles are more or less powerful in comparison to other games, is not, in my opinion, relevant. What matters is how powerful the roles are in relation to each other, and in this game I considered everything, and came up with a set-up in which I believed everything was off-set by something else.

If you aren't doing anything wrong you have nothing to worry about. :cop:
First the good. Thanks for the game marty, it was very well put together and appeared to be well run; it was clear you started to lose interest but the game seemed to go very smooth. With only 1 winner out of 53 starters, and the fact the the side that complained the most about the set-up won, it must have been well balanced. Though we all know that pre-game balance doesn't mean much once the game starts. Either way very nice game.
Now the bad. I was/am very disturbed by the behavior of the ghosts in the game. Besides the one time that someone was called out for saying something they should not have said, there were multiple other times I saw dead people making statements they should not have made. As a ghost you cannot say ANYTHING that pertains to the game. It might have been public knowledge but people forget, and get distracted and are stupid and a dead player saying something can remind them of something they forgot. When AsdfeZxcas died he admitted he still had packmates left; you cannot do that. Everyone might know that, but no ones knows it, especially considering there were both asymmetrical packs AND no kill nights.
If you are dead you are no longer a part of the game and you need to go away until the next one starts, outside of subs. The game is about the players that are alive, not the herd who is already dead and out of the game. Besides the fact that ghosts can't seem to keep from giving out information they should not be giving out, it makes trying to actually play the game a pain in the ass. It was bad enough when there were 53 players alive to follow along, and to go back and try and re-read the thread to refresh your memory without having dead people vying for the honor of top poster. People are accusing the players alive at the end game of not being very engaged, but when you have to wade through 3 pages of ghost spam every couple of hours I imagine it is hard to stay engaged.
Not to go even more Old Timer Get off My Lawn than I normally am but look at how certain people behaved after dying: randakar, johho, Lemeard, jonti, walrus, Yakman, myself. Even though some of them died very early I don't think any of them had more than 10 posts after dying. That is what the rest of the ghosts averaged each day. Once you die you are no longer part of the game, go find something else to do for a week and let the players play.

Yep. I should have been harsher a lot of times, but there was simply so much of it I tended to skim over/completely ignore most if not all of the ghost posts, because there was so much else to do.I'd agree that ghost rules have been enforced quite laxly for quite awhile now.
Ah, but being arrogant is just part of who I am. I am completely self-conscious about it though, and try to do it in such an over-the-top way that people think I'm joking (in a way, I am at least being ironic).Yes, and I think you balanced everything quite well. I have forgotten to congratulate Hax to the win. Contrats, Hax! Very well deserved and the last day's late switch with a hint of desperation was a really nice touch. I did not see you as the last baddie even if you were an obvious candidate for a cursed/turned based on your earlier track record.
@sbr, I might have posted more than 10 ghost comments.o But at least I deleted at least twice that number before hitting "submit reply".
Thank Sbr. And I completely agree with everything you said about subs.If you aren't doing anything wrong you have nothing to worry about. :cop:

Fully agreed. The feeling of relief when you don't have to pay attention to the game/deadline anymore is great.Generally agreed. I've found that when I die in one of these big games, I think "oh wow, I don't have to worry about whether I'm around at deadline or other vital moments, so I can go do other stuff I could be doing!"
Indeed it was, when I actually spammed.there was a lot of non-required ghost spam. but i think that was a one off for this game, in an effort to add post count.
I'm actually in England now, funnily enough. :ninja:
Should we call the authorities?
