It was frustrating, but it was actually a regular ABCABC pattern. I was only keeping it secret to hide the number of packs from team evil.
*shrug* Not the best of my ideas, I admit.

I seem to recall there was something different that triggered if you hunted, maybe the pack that sent in their order last? It wasn't a repeating pattern at least. Whoever hosted, I think, also had it that way to hide the number of packs.

We also have the OY game when there were three packs but with an ABAB patern because pack C (me) was also undercover as part of pack A and B.

Well fair enough. But if that was the case, that the spy report was only part of the information you used to make a decision, then it was hardly overpowered.
Snoop was a fellow VC member. ShoGul was scanned that night, Teep was being lynch-protected for the following night.

I'm still kind of peeved about that spy report on me, as it was obvious that I would have no real business interacting with all of those people without being some sort of baddie (especially after the VC was made public). You basically made it so that 4 different goodies (priest+3 spies) could scan me on any given night, and gave one of those goodies a backup (and he found another as well). I had no chance to win basically from the moment I received my role.

And then I somehow won the hunter trait, which only made it worse.

Oh, was that in the rules? (I never read them and just assume everything is as usual until someone says otherwise or I feel the need to check something - which I never did for spy reports)

Did you ever mention a totally irrelevant player in a spy report? I don't recall whether or not you did.

It would have been funny if you had been hunted though. Did one of the thieves steal it from you?

No, I wasted my shot on Kaisersohaib, trying to pretend to be helpful to the JL. I was tempted to go kamikaze and kill randy, and I really should have done so.

Not exactly (EDIT: Well, apparently LK has at least one), merely because I simply never got around to it, as I got quite bored mid-way through the game, as you can see from the haiku Walrus got one night. I did occasionally say someone in a report could be one of the several people, with only one of them being the real person.

Both spies were dead after something like 4 or 5 days, so they could in principle have stolen it; you do get stolen traits back after the thiefs die after all.

I never received word about having lost it, so presumably nobody stole from me.

Yes, I had to eliminate both packs.

The GM included me in the PM to the packs, something like this:

"You are the Danish pack. EKjeldsen, Wagonlitz and johho888 are wolves. EKjeldsen has a cultist, Arne Fougstedt. Wagonlitz is brutal. You hunt even numbered nights"

"You are the Finnish pack. Olaus Petrus, Finnish Dragon and johho888 are wolves. Finnish Dragon has a cultist Jopi. Olaus Petrus is brutal. You hunt odd numbered nights"

"You are really in the Swedish pack. johho888 is wolf. You have no cultist. You don't get to hunt until one pack is eliminated when you take over their hunt nights. You can not win as part of the Danish or Finnish packs."

Yes, Olli Pekka or something like that is his real name. Olaus Petrus is what it would be in Latin. IIRC he was (is?) working on a PhD in history at the university in Helsingfors.

There has been variable hunting patterns in a few games. IIRC I was in a pack in a game where we sent in hunt orders every night but didn't know if we hunted or not (the GM had some way of determining which pack hunted but we weren't told). That was extremely frustrating.

I didn't mean that the wolves did not know when they would be hunting, just that it would not be a simple ABABAB or ABCABCABC pattern.
with 3 packs, it would be enough, if every packs hunts every third night on average (pack one could hunt on nights 1,3,7, pack two on 2,5,7 and pack three on 3,4,8 with nights 6 and 8 being no-hunts. repeat or change after 9 nights. update after a pack is eliminated, accounting for equal hunt numbers)
