A villager wouldn't prefer anybody dying over somebody not themselves on day 0, since they know the allegiance of nobody. That is what makes it sketchy.
But I fully agree that Torn and k-59 are sketchier.
Firstly a game this size is bound to have multiple packs; three packs in fact are quite likely. Especially given that sms wants a back to the roots game you can be certain that there is multiple packs.
We started 40 man strong. If there are two packs johho's golden rule says there will be 13---perhaps 14 baddies. If there is three packs johho's golden rule says 16 baddies. Due to sms wanting a conventional game there is pretty much no chance of 4 packs or more.
Given the hard cap on PMs which mean that at most 6 people, i.e. GM and 5 baddies, can be part of a PM it is highly unlikely a pack has over 5 starting baddies. And due to problems with attachment when there already are 5 baddies in a pack (dead or alive, you still need to start a new PM and copy over content as needed) I would say 4 starting baddies a pack is more likely---though 5 a pack is pretty much needed if this is a two pack game.
If it is a two pack game there there probably was 5 baddies a pack. That would leave 3 or 4 unattached baddies which seems a reasonable number. If it was 4 baddies a pack that would mean 5 or 6 unattached baddies at start which is too much in my opinion, since it means that if one of the packs gets disproportionately hit early the baddies can block up and reach parity very fast. For the same reason I would assume only 1 cultist a pack no matter whether it's a pack of 4 or a pack of 5.
If we have 3 packs then three packs of 4, with 1 cultist in each, and 4 unattached baddies seems reasonable.
Also you need to remember that the sham vote winner is a likely scan; so a baddie wouldn't really want a mate to take it, since it brings needless attention for a minor trait.
Okay, a wolf wouldn't want their packmate to get the trait, but I still hold that a villager could have meta-reasons for preferring Rovsea to live. For example, many people have meta-reasons for preferring literally everyone to you, you cannot deny they do not with amount of times you die Day 1. I think it's reasonable for SpockyT to have meta-reasons for preferring npstr to die over Rovsea.
