These expansions are great and all, but I feel like they're all so minor. I'd love some sort of a challenge out of the game - sandbox is great but adding some sort of a challenge mode would only make replay-ability infinitely greater. Scenarios are fine for those who enjoy them, but I feel they take away from the creative nature of the game (I'm especially referring to the scenarios which come with pre-made cities).

Perhaps some sort of a daily/weekly challenge mode? Or demands given by your citizens? I know some will say "it's a sandbox game, use your imagination" but I'm sure there are others like me who've done the sandbox thing for hundreds of hours and now want something a little more challenging but with the same great experience of a sandbox. Even implementing some sort of a leaderboard system would give something to work towards. These are just a few suggestions, but none of these would take away from the core gameplay, especially if they are optional game modes/options.

I do still buy all the expansions and I do enjoy them for a short period, but every time I read the features of a new expansion I'm always really hoping for something a little bit more from the game - it's such a great game and there's still so much untapped potential!

Agreed so much, and there's a (in my view) right and a wrong way to do these challenges even in games that have them and they would be an excellent addition to cities skylines. For example from COs previous cim games, I find it really annoying when I have to build a random bus route in order to meet the challenge of having a bus route to X. Esspecily if I already have some other mode of transportation. The challenges like transport y amount of people to z which have lots of ways to achieve them and offer far more freedom are in my view alot better and would be will suiged to cities skylines.

For me while I like the idea of challenges I am looking for more realistic city development. For example a little more development work is needed on the balance of income and expenses in the city and make it less easy to make money. All city builder games and in fact all strategy games end up snowballing in that you get to a point where the money comes easy and there is never a shortage of resources to do what you want and this is not realistic.

Eh, I was watching some gameplay on Paradox Extra (Zykes art corner) and saw him really struggle to connect a cafe to the park paths. I was wondering if it would be possible to connect some of these assets with nodes, because it would drive me nuts if there was no paved entrance to a cafe.

He struggled to connect the road to the cafe, because he build the cafe first, then the road.
I think it would be much easier (an prettier) to build the road first.
