With the introduction of the new Viceroys system for king and duke level titles in C, it would seem that centralized states can now (well, a week from now) be represented sensibly in CK2.

It would therefore appear to me that the last hurdle on the way for the China DLC has been removed.

What do you think? Is there anything left, that we're still missing? The new tribal system will make it possible to populate the steppe more sensibly, so that's out of the way as well.

Here is a hurdle for you: China is not relevant to medieval Europe in any way. If they added China no European ruler would ever come in contact with them (unless they added a "silk road" mechanic for City-States.) At least India was relevant to the Muslims.

To whoever who said Southeast Asia isn't important in this era, I think it is important to clear-up the misunderstanding...
Well, if you are European, Southeast Asia is not important...
If you are Arab and only have India, it also isn't that important because India is really near your vicinity...
But if you add Arab, India, AND China then you have Southeast Asia as important as Central Asia...

Sure they don't have Silk Road, but they have Spice Road which function similar to Silk Road...
This is region also important because India-China connection goes through here instead of Central Asia...
Sure the mongol didn't attack here, wait, they did though of course in Kubilai Khan era and not Genghis Khan...
And beside the Mongol, Chola attack Srivijaya as part of their Empire building, monopolizing the trade route in the region up to China to fuel their economy...
Not only that, but Vietnam is conquered by China back then and it is part of Southeast Asia...

And while I do think Southeast Asia is more similar to Europe than China due to India's influence and because most of its area are sea region thus less character added overall, I am currently against adding more to the game because it is clear the game is at its limit (as Dev themselves said, speed 5 not as fast as it was previously)...

They will need to invent some more new mechanics to actually represent this period in China. However, it is surely an interesting period. On the other hand, with the new tribal system in Charlemagne, I think we are more ready for a DLC featuring the rise of Mongols.

Nothing is irrelevant, everything has some kind of relevance to one thing or another. I don't know what me being Korean has anything to do with it and besides, I'm a New Zealand citizen residing in Korea, so if there's one thing that actually is irrelevant it's that.

China should get its own game. It deserves that much, and could be extremely interesting if done correctly.

CK2 almost certainly won't have China, for reasons already mentioned. I believe CK3 will though, eventually.

CK2 community on DLC for almost anything (Charlemagne, India, Aztecs, etc.), everytime:

Anyways, I do see the merit in performance issues argument in this case. However, it does sound like a nice idea. If they added an accurate system for China and such, perhaps they could even revamp the Byzantine mechanics (which are, currently, inaccurate) and mechanics for a remade Rome (of which there are not enough, and those that are there are a bit... feudal.) Also, we have a wonderful modding community.

Not in the least. A much bigger problem in my opinion is just that CK2's mechanics don't fit China in this period (or any period).

I'd like to play a Paradox game set in medieval China (one of the most fascinating periods and places in history imo), but give it its own game, with mechanics specially designed for China/Far East.

All Eurasia was linked. This is well known, ever since Hodgson's admittedly flawed paper some sixty years ago. China and the West were connected inextricably by trade and cultural links. China was the source of a vast amount of production.
Yes, but CK2, with its focus on characters, wouldn't model how the ends of Eurasia affected one another, even if China was in it.

Yeah because there was an invisible wall during the middle ages in the middle of Asia... To: ju44 These negative people do not represent the whole community, they are only a vocal minority and they come out & whine to anyway idea they don't like. They came out when ever adding Judaism came up before SoA or India before RoI came out.

I'm happy because I want to make a China mod and this will be really helpful. That being said I'm not excited by the idea of a China DLC. It's just one of those things that doesn't need to happen, although I appreciate anything the devs give us that would make modeling China easier.

Yeah... there was mountains, a desert, and rainforests between China and India. In case you haven't noticed, China was never politically relevant in India even though its religions spread there. Also, "China proper" (which borders the Yellow Sea) is about as far away from India as Scotland is from the straits of Gibraltar.
