Alright, I am just putting this up here so that everyone knows what is going on. I have looked more at the mods effect on our save game and I have discovered it affects a couple things actually.
What Will Change For Us With 1.8:
1. Religion Boosts I dicussed previously. Double colonists. Double Missionaries.
2. Goods have their base-values reduced, this cuts trade in Europe roughly in half, maybe only by a third in some cases, but it is a very downward trend. This pushes Norway into #1 income spot (thanks to Mexican Gold) and lowers the Norman position down to rough parity with Sparta and Cossacks.
3. The province.csv changes OVERWRITE the saved native parameters. Thus all those 20000 non-hostile natives in Ethiopia just got hostile. Same in Peru. This benefits Drew disproportionately because he got Mexico colonized up so there are no native there, but it isnt an enormous advantage. India and China are now full to the brim with hostile natives. Within the first year, we should see quite a few TPs burnt to cinders by these new natives. However, other changes to the province.csv did not come through. I find this very odd, but it does finally explain why Shigure was never able to get his randomizer to randomize native size and aggression.
4. I changed the default religion of Thrace, Smyrna, and Anatolia to be Sunni instead of Orthodox. Now I notice when I load the save that Drake now has Sunnis in those three provinces. Drake, you did convert those right? It is possible that because the default religion wasnt changed, that value wasnt stored in the save and thus it became altered when the new province.csv was applied. This seems to be the only instance of this, but I implore everyone to look at the save for anything like this that I may not have noticed. And Drake, tell me if my assumptions are right here.
What I Could Further Cause Using Editing:
In 1.8, I centralized a lot of the province values using "include" files. Thus I have several include files that radically alter the province setup. For the randomization scenarios, there is an include file that gives all European provinces into 20 base-tax and 10 manpower. There is another that makes all provinces European culture. Therefore, I could theoretically remove the entire province data section from the savegame and add a couple include file commands and then loading the save would convert all European provinces to European 20-base-tax and 10 manpower provinces. This would be a huge change and Dago/John have already told me they would be against it. It could alter the balance of power in Europe. I will run a test of this, see what happens, and report back.
An Observation:
I think that Milan may be nerfed by these changes. I am thinking mainly of trade. That was really what was saving Milan, but with it AI all last session I think it may be toast. Perhaps we could move JTU to Hanseatic League? I dont know. He likes to tough it out in rough spots, I have noticed. But without the 20-base-tax and 10 manpower edit, I dont think Milan can survive much longer.
