bretons. their cultural buidligns: heavy knights. especially if you plan doing some sort of arthur thing.
Now, this is a good argument. Is there anywhere a list of cultural buildings for all cultures? What do the Welsh and Saxon/English have?

Edit: found it. On the other hand, the Welsh have the longbows, and the breton building is proper of most of mainland Catholic Europe. Cultural buildings are tied to the province or to the character's culture? I guess the province, right?

Wales probably makes more sense. Cornwall needs a Cornish culture implemented in a patch, as calling Cornwall culturally Breton is like calling Britain culturally American, so until this is done there's no point using them with Britain.

Kingdom of Wales should be the goal.

(If you mod in Cornish culture though, I'd say do that and play as "Artognou" - interesting mystery around the ancient graffiti found on a stone in Tintagel with that scrawled on it - google the Artognou stone)

Ruler = top liege, not holding owner or anything bottom-up like that?!

It seems a bit weird to make an Empire of Britannia starting as a faction that isn't even attached to the island.
I thought about it, but on the other hand this is a super-cool thing. Britannia is the land whence Bretons were exiled, they should retake it!!!

I am decided for Breton (at most I'll mod the name of k_brittany into "Kingdom of Britain"), and I want to make an AAR out of it.

Now the question is: should I wait for Legacy of Rome to come out, so that I can utilize retinues to simulate the "New Round Table" and such for story purposes, or start now?

Play now you Breton fool!

Good choice, by the way. Grab Cornwall ASAP, and then you can spread Breton culture up thru the British Isles from there.

robez, for Cornwall try this:

Code:
50012 = {
	name="Kadog"
	dynasty=100031 #of Cornwall
	martial=6
	diplomacy=4
	intrigue=7
	stewardship=8
	religion="catholic"
	culture="breton"
	add_trait="tough_soldier"
	add_trait="humble"
	add_trait="patient"
	add_trait="brave"
	add_trait="just"
	1029.6.23={
		birth="1029.6.23"
	}
	1071.11.4={
		death="1071.11.4"
	}
}

And then edit history/titles/c_cornwall accordingly:

Code:
1066.1.1={
	holder=50012 #Cadoc of Cornwall
	liege="k_england"
}
1068.1.1={
	holder=354 #Brian of Penthièvre
}

He's sort of historical, and it gives Cornwall a proper Breton ruler. :)

Vanilla CK II, custom Breton-culture character as earl of Cornwall in the second 1066 scenario.

Now your thinking! Ive never thought of doing it from the inside! Way more fun! Going to give it a go now! Well done to you.

My family is historically from Devon so I did a 1066 start with them from the inside conquered Wales then Ireland rebelled formed Ireland got an invasion cassus belli from the pope and took England it was awesome until i couldnt keep the crowns united due to succession laws.
