EU: Rome was very pretty and had great potential, but honestly it got ignored very badly and slid off to the side like an unwanted ugly child. If it got some more modern programing and actual efforts to fix it up with expansions I would say a lot of people would at the very least try it out. Also I doubt a Dark Ages game will ever be made because as Paradox has said numerous times "We suck at migrations" (paraphrased) Which is the biggest part of what made the Dark Ages possible. Just like at the Magyars in CK2 987 start, took a lot of effort to make just 1 nation migrate.

That's because people are clamoring for it on other forums. I never open Rome's forum, for instance, because I don't play it anymore and I consider it badly realized, but I'd still want Rome 2 over any other Paradox title. The fact that there were so many people asking / wishing that this was Rome 2 should be a sign of that fact.
Conspiracy theory: Project Nero may not be directly related to Rome, but the name was chosen to see how rabidly the fandom really wants Rome 2.

Man. I'd hate to work security at any of Sweden's western embassies on the 23rd. They're just so unprepared.
