It's not like we have to break the enigma code here. I mean they'll tell us in like, 2 days.

Technically even this was a clue even though the person revealing the clue was unaware of the nature of the clue itself. That seems to be the best way to unlock secrets. Take information from one who knows nothing and later spin it to fit the truth like someone knew the secret all along.
