LOOKS AWESOME!

Can't wait to get it.

Haw! Just preordered it! Come on, 23rd of February...

As a huge fan of HoI2 I just found out about this game. Somehow it went 'under the radar' so to speak, but I most certainly am gonna give this a try since I can't get my head around HoI3 and am overall pretty disappointed about that game.

EDIT:
Well, I'm giving this little gem a try and sofar I'm pretty impressed. While I'm nowhere near getting my head around out all the new features and refinements I must say the overall feel is a lot more dynamic then say HoI2. (At least on the domestic part of governing your country, since I haven't gotten myself into a wat yet)

Now what's real is real: my TC is badly red when I am invading inner Chinese lands.
Still, in the original HoI2, seems like ICs in captured (and subsequently annexed) provinces are intact. Why is it the different case here? For example, in Armageddon, I got the Chinese surrender event, chose "Install a Loyal Puppet" and if I recall correctly my IC went over 100. But the same thing didn't happen in AoD.
Loved all those national views features.

In HOI2 the IC and resources had 100% efficiency from day one.
In AOD the eficiency rises slowly after takeover, simulating the time it takes to organize and subdue the working force.
(the IC are not damaged, but there is no one in them to produce stuff for the occupier)

Did not want to create a new thread so I'll ask here. What is this? :) It's Hearts of Iron but it's not.

No, it's not HoI2... it's MUCH more. Same game engine but massively revised, with a lot of HoI2 annoyances gone (just to give a couple of examples: you can now target single provinces for air attack; unlimited range for AI navies has been eliminated) and many, many new features added. The best thing I can suggest you to do, though, is to read the dev diaries - trust me, they're worth your time ;) .

Thanks. I'll take a look on those.

Whichone, HoI III or AoD? :)

You're welcome.

ATM, there's no doubt - get AoD. It's a highly improved version of HoI2, so if you liked it, AoD will give you a blast. HoI3, at its current stage of development, seems yet to be too "sandbox style". It will probably become a (very) good game, but it will take months, if not years, and a couple of expansions IMO.

Your comment about HOI3 reminds me about SH5 :).

from Karagin's signature...

Only an idiot fights a war on two fronts; only the heir to the kingdom of idiots fights a war on 12 fronts

I don't agree with this cliche we hear too often. Israel asswhooped 3 fronts in the 6 Day War (and technically 4 fronts if you count Iraq's small commitment and subsequent small asswhooping). This proves there are no by-the-book rules in warfare.

Patton's words of wisdom that war is an art rules over these cliches. So go ahead and scrap on all the fronts you want to. The more scrapping the better I reckon.

Maybe because they 1)can't speak french 2)aren't the people who handle marketing 3)don't expect these kinds of notifications (or propositions, judging from your response later on) to happen in random forum threads, preferring the obvious method of PM-ing instead.
