Now every time a war starts by any reason all the Great Powers will get involved. Doesn't matter why, they will get involved and will strife until one side is annihilated. Wars with almost 500k units on each side aren't uncommon (I've seen three in my game as Spain, all caused by the Pope for a silly goal).

It's causing a small problem, because no one can declare war on anyone or they'll call Russia, France and three other continents at your choice against you.

The first one was the Thirty Years War. Expected.

Later the Pope declared war against Ferrara. Then Bohemia (it was the emperor) got envolved. Then Russia. Then France. Then Sweden. Then England.

It was me, Austria, a couple of minors and the Pope against this madness. Dug in on the Pyrenees to not lose so much.

Second war I don't remember the reason, but was everyone gangbanging Austria and me silently hoping that those 200k stack don't come unto me.

This all seems WAD. Upsetting the status quo should make roughly 50% of the "world" upset. Large wars generally didn't happen more than once a generation, and when they did virtually every nation had interests to protect. Often in multiplayer I hear players declaring that "World War" has broken out when more than a handful of medium size nations in Europe are fighting. Please  I suppose that this a strength of EU4, where regional conflicts feel encompassing.

The game which would deserve the title "World War Universalis" is Victoria 2. In that game, without player interference, it is not uncommon to see World War 5 or 6 being fought before 1936.

Later the Pope declared war against Ferrara. Then Bohemia (it was the emperor) got envolved. Then Russia. Then France. Then Sweden. Then England.

Sometimes it is best to "betray" an ally by not honoring a call to arms. France is absolutely beatable, as long as you fight them on your terms.
