True, nothing as huge as him (he was one of the inventors of a whole genre of games) but a respectable resume. Mainly rpgs, but I guess also a Playboy game and a serious book about sex in games. Which is interesting, that's not an area Paradox has ever really dealt with.

Like I said earlier, I don't put a lot of stock in "star" game designers, but the choice of the Romeros might tell us something.

Build your base, build your army, send them to fight, jump down and assist in FPS view? Maybe go solo and assassinate high profile targets?

So, when I saw the forum materialse in the upcoming box, I thought "so now we're getting not only vampires, but some sort of night of the living dead zombie game, woo," because genuinely the only Romero I was aware of was the one that did that - and only THEN through mentions from Funny Internet Reviewers.

I only even clicked on it now out of sheer boredom (I don't feel up to taking another stab at HoI4 tonight, that game is so damn hard compared to the other GSGs...)

Of course, never being remotely interested in shooters (past the very brief novelty of Doom when we first had a PC verses ther Atari ST), I haven't played any of the correct (apparently plural) Romero's games to have known they were behind them. (And probably wouldn't have noticed anyway...)

So... I actually have no idea. Not even any particular humours facsetious ones.

Actually, if you let me actually play as a Lich, Mr and Mrs Romero, I will probably not care what it is beyond that. (Come on, we have lots of vampire games and a big one coming, it's time Liches had a proper turn!)



Ooh, checking wiki, Mrs Romero worked on Wizardry 8, which I have played. (But never finished.)

Well, s'more my speed than the others... Hell, that might mean there is a microscopic chance that Lich might be within spitting distance of the table in actual seriousness.

Yes, but it's still possible that the new franchise take place in an existing universe (universe bought by Paradox for example). At least, it was how I understood this.
I don't know Vampire universe, so I can't say if it's possible to make a strategy game with it.

So, uh... is this an entire official forum for a game that wasn't even announced yet? I'm genuinely confused. It sounds like "we're not going to announce it yet, because it's still too early to build up the hype... but we'll open an official forum for it to build up the hype early". Just makes me go "wat? "
I mean, if you just want to say there's a game in development, one thread and a link to it in the news would have sufficed. An entire forum full of speculation threads which should really all be part of this one thread feels excessive and out of place. I mean, I'm sure the game will be great and all, but at the moment there's just nothing to talk about to warrant an entire dedicated forum.

Bethesda owns Id software studio which still owns the Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake and I think Commander Keen IPs.
