So Im playing a game as Japan. Its a pretty standard game, unite Japan in 50years, eat away at any non-tributaries in the North, otherwise expand into Indonesia/the Americas via a mix of colonization/conquest. Im a world power and all seems like its a normal game. Then I notice it, Europe. I cant remember why you suddenly get practically the entire worlds map (assuming a tech or meeting someone), but I look over into Europe to see one of the weirdest sites.
To help clarify some of the details.
Austria. Gone.
Poland. Gone.
Spain. Aragon annexed Castille via war and now they only exist on a tiny island.
Portugal. Gone.
Bohemia has blobbed and Prussia actually formed by the AI. The first time I've ever seen that in 650+ hours of gameplay.
Riga and Theodoro are not only alive but have also grown far larger than when they started. So this prompts me to ask, what is the weirdest looking Europe you have seen without any player intervention?
France being annexed within 150years seems to be a surprisingly common one in my recent games.
