My friends and I played a bit today, T on Great Britian, Me on Russia, and M for some reason on Texas. We decided it would be fun to attack the USA, so we started a pretty long war that ended in Texas miraculously satelliting the USA (I think he was holding, like, one of their provences). As a result, T got a lot of land in the Northeast: Pennsylvania, New York, and the New England territories. Just for fun we started releasing satellites, and there were some we just didn't expect:
New England (became a great power withing a couple of years)
Manhattan Commune (just one province, became world power)
Metis Confederacy (Central Canada)

Are there any more odd potential countries out there, just dying to play with history?

tl;dr - Any odd satellites out there?

I looked up metis, and it's legitimate, which is news to little ol' ignorant me:

And now that I'm looking stuff up, The Difference Engine by William Gibson and Bruce Sterling had a communist Manhattan state. Now I'm excited for your posts.
