Playing France on 1.08, with the latest beta (I assumed the beta patches were cumulative).

I offer peace at Burgundy for 3 provinces, representing 50% out of 57%. Deal refused.
One month later, I offer peace for 2 provinces, representing 40%. Deal refused.
One month later, 2 small provinces + money, about 35%. Deal refused.
Right on closing the window and unpausing the game, I get an offer for the 3 provinces I first offered + all the country's money (198).

I thought this was fixed along the way, or did I hallucinate?

thanks :)

Just re-installed EU2 and started playing again, my first time since 1.07, and hopefully my first full game since 1.05 :)
So many games, so little time... :D

I sometimes get that myself, even though I play the latest version of the game. I'll keep asking for way below the percentage but the enemy keeps refusing it. Then a second later they will come back with the SAME EXACT offer (or sometimes even better).....I just scratch my head and hit the "Accept" button :D

The AI places a lower value on their own peace offers than ones they will be willing to accept. This is particularly annoying as the Byzantines when you want some combination of Alexandria and Aleppo, or Lebannon. Many is the time I've had to take Sinia or some miserable North African sheep provinces just to nab the manpower of Aleppo and the CoT in Alexandria.

Also annoying is when you want a single territory, like say Andalusia, and you don't have the warscore force the Spaniards hand ... but they offer it for 2 BB along with a dozen colonial cities also for 2BB points each.

The AI likes to give away provinces you have a land border with, provinces along the coast, and virtually never gives away interior provinces. If you want an extremely generous peace offer you should seige only provinces that you want to take, are interior, or the capital.

Ideally the AI would make a check whenever you offer a peace deal and compare the value of what you are asking for and the value of what it would offer at that specific moment. Throw in a few random modifiers and the AI will no longer fight a decimating war forever merely to handover more than what it was being asked to give.

I've found that the AI will almost always accept an offer of below half your warscore, and exactly on half is iffy, but if you have the neverending 99% due to capturing arseloads of colonies you can get more than 50%. The AI seems to be prepared to offer you between two-thirds and half your warscore, though, provided you're definitely winning.

viper37 I play 1,08 and I have the same stories always. I now play with Russia (age of mercatilism) and I conquered whole Poland and I demanded 8 provinces and Poland refuses. After month they offer me THE SAME EXACTLY what I want. The same story was when I slautghered Ottomans with England (I was England), Austria, Netherland and Hanover (age of enhgliment) - they refused to give me what I want for my alliance but in separate peaces they gave everything what I wanted. STRANGE?!

To answer the original question: no, this has not been fixed. I am not even sure it is registered as a bug.

I consider it a feature of the game one has to adapt to. It takes some skill to get exactly what you want.

In just about any game I play I DOW China with the purpose of taking Shanghai and Guangzhou, but nothing more, from them. I succeed every time although I can never ask for both of them, then they will decline my peace offer.

Maybe Johan or whomever is the bug fixer right now will look into it at some point :)

I don't expect this will ever get changed... it's a frustrating problem at times, but most players are used to it. So long as the enemy countries aren't ferocity = yes, it doesn't hamper gameplay all that much.

He-he. It has been the same since EU2 was released. It is better to wait for an offer from the AI than making one yourself. He will "always" offer more than he will accept if you ask.

And that is how simple this question is I believe, the percentage number he accepts should be the same, regardless who offers peace.
