So the Iberian wedding fired, and Castile refused it, which was fine for me because i was playing ireland and a less powerful spain makes me a stronger new world power. The weird thing is, Maria Theresa Von Habsburg became regent of Aragon.... wtf why is Maria Theresa the regent of Aragon?

The regent is often determined by royal marriages (I don't know the specifics on this). If Aragon is has a marriage with a von Hapsburg dynasty, there's a chance the regent will be of that dynasty.
