Have anyone else noticed some NEW bizarre behaviour? what I mean - for some reason my ally avoids battles. To an ridiculous extent. Not only did they let enemy 7k army (with my attached forces they had two 20k armies) take 2lvl fort (they were close, no nearby enemy reinforcements), but after enemy took it and moved on to a crash course with our army - my ally stopped and moved to other province! 20k running from 7k... Ofc thats just one, most extreme instance. I tried 3 times this war and I cant win despite superior forces - force ratio is about 3 to 2 for our advantage - because enemy is taking fort after fort completely unbothered.
Another weird thing I noticed is my ally was sometimes idle. Like they were right next to their captured fort and stood there for like 2 months despite no enemy around.

I'm asking because I spent hundreds of hours in Eu4 and now I came back after year of break, and never before I have seen anything like that.

One thing crossed my mind - maybe in some recent patch they implemented into AI that they are more reluctant to fight when they have lower military level?

The new AI, one point, tend to hide armies behind fog of war and when the visible (to you) gets attacked, they reinforce massively. This tend to happen if one front is swarmed with your allies.

AI tend to swap fronts to the least defended front. Know ai checks ledger and counts enemy troops. If it sees most enemy troops are at one place, it swaps sides.

AI also seem to remember where it last saw units, it might be it hasn't seen a particular stack for a while, for ai, indicating it might have swapped fronts, and thus gets reluctant to do anything but "observe"..

Of course you have the all-in-reinforce-whatever-it-takes during league wars, or very many participants on each side.. Cus ai brain disables at that point because it thinks there may not be enough reinforcements if they reinforce faster..

sort of....
