Here's the first of our weekly poll questions: What scenarios would you like to play?

This is a multiple choice poll, meaning that you can vote for as few or as many of the options as you'd like. As a result, the percentages that you see at the end of each line will add up to more then 100%, but we;ll get a feel for what general areas are most interesting to you all.

Rather than give you specific "historic" years, this poll will simply give you 25-year increments from the published staring date.

You should have made it with actual scenario start date years... this way, many prefered scenarios will be in between some of the options, meaning that the votees won't know which year to actually vote for - resulting in this becoming an unrealiable and useless survey. And you can't use that as a foundation for scenario selection, obviously.

Nay, I say the choices should be as follows:

1453
1492
1508
1521
1568
1618
1630
1680
1700
1701
1740
1778

For me, 1453 (grand campaign ofcourse) and 1575 as it is closest to the start of the 80 year war.
Though probably i'll mostly play the grand campaign.

Personally I'd really like a 1558 scenario, but there you go.

If you have a scenario preference that would fall between dates, vote for the ones on either side of the date.

I just picked the ones I did because I was...

1. too lazy to look po precise historical dates of "real" ones

2. If I published the exact ones that are being considered at a design level I would find myself in a noose, dangling from the nearest yardarm.

The result will at least show general periods of particular interest. :)

1725 would not be a bad year to start. Europe is pretty stable, you are past Utrecht and Louix XIV's wars, Prussia is strong but not expansionist, IIRC the Great Northern War is either over or all but the treaty, Qing are firmly in power in China, South Asia become more interesting as the Mughals fall apart, and colonial borders in the Americas are fairly stable.

1453 (because, well I always play the Grand Campaign)
1525 (the closest to old 1520, that was a fun scenario)
1575 (the earliest to get the NL from the beginning)

And whatever ends as the equivalent to the Nappy scenario: whatever scenario works as 'fun few hours of war in MP when you don't want to play a long-term campaign' Because we really need that kind of scenario.

I voted for 1453 (duh)
1500 (closest to 1492)
1550 (the centre of the an interesting century)
1650 (things get interesting Europe-wide here)

cant bring myself to vote for an after 1705 scenario (don't know why) :D

The bulk of my choices are between 1625-1700 when France has all those wars.

I want the 30 years war and the French and Indian War (7 Years War). :D

Good. As long as you do not have Turenne!

Picked 1453, 1500, 1600, 1625, 1650, 1675, 1700, 1750, 1775, and 1800. :D

So many choices dilutes your voting power. ;)

1775 is a must, because there simply must be a scenario with the USA selectable from the start. Not mentioning the appeal to American players, probably one of the funnest multiplayer experiences can be had with a simple 3-player USA-France-GB campaign in EU2.

I also picked 1453, 1525, 1700 and then one in the 1600s for good measure, though I forget which decade.

1700 so that I can fight in three of my favorite wars - War of Spanish Succession, War of Austrian Succession and the Seven Years War.

I forgot to vote for 1618 as well.....bleh. But yea....I love the Thirty Years War as well.

I also love the wars of the Holy League though. And the HYW. I'm so confused....

this should be stickied...

On the topic, is 1800 scenario really a possibility? Will the game be able to simulate Napoleonic era warfare and diplomacy too?

Just 1453. I like Grand Campaign and nothing else :)
