You're reading way too much into my statement about "annexing countries at random". What I meant was, we don't make decisions based solely on game mechanics; This is a roleplaying game.

In any case.

I'm on 10 mbit, I should be able to handle hosting. I don't know what my upload limit is, but so far I've been able to handle games with 10 players, without much lag.

hmm i don't think we should manualy edit generals to our advantage.

Or if ya meant that we should use a Leader etc random generator then i'm fine with it. but i can go with the historical play also..

but any ways.. so it's 7GMT-10GMT? and we start tomorrow?(today is saturday)

no, we haven't. maybe we could play today without random leaders/explorers. what do you say?

decide about rules, and i think we'll use the original map, am i right? I've got a nice and balanced AoD 1.4, it's a mod and the map is great.

I think AoD is worth considering. Since we want a game where small countries should be able to play as well, without getting gobbled up. The goal in this game is not to win, in the classical sense. It's to roleplay your nation and have fun.

How about historical leaders AND random leaders?

I also think we should lock the naval/land slider. Perhaps not completely, though. How about allowing a click or two in each direction, to give some diversity to it, without making it boring?

Merik

i agree 100 percent.

About random leaders, i like playing with them with my historical ones, without historical leaders i won't play because some countries will lose the leader advantage/disavantage in the game. If you want a really fair game, you can use alternative scenarios and modifications where countries start with 6 provinces each, taxes and manpower are similar and chances of winning are exactly the same.

Naval/Land slider, I'm indiferent about it.

Funny you say that about leaders, guess it's because you play Austria, who has great leaders.

Historical leaders ruin the game, cos they are so damn insane compared to random ones.
