Congratulations indeed.

Who could object to any work that had the aim "To do whatever it takes to stop from simply going/staying French."?

My profoundest thanks to @hjarg for giving me this award. I am truly honored to have received this recognition. The support of my friends here in AARland goes a very long way towards encouraging me to continue in my writing.

@Nikolai, @stnylan, @Specialist290, @TheButterflyComposer, @Idhrendur, @DensleyBlair, @El Pip: Many thanks to you all for your support and your kind words.

Now the time has come to pass this award to the next worthy recipient. As I reviewed the log of prior recipients of this award, I was shocked to discover that it has been an entire year since my good friend, @Nikolai has been recognized in this thread for his excellent AAR writing.

I've been acquainted with @Nikolai for many years, both on this forum and elsewhere on the net. As I've gotten to know him over the years, I have come to know that not only is he a prolific and talented writer, he is also an individual of the highest personal character and integrity.

@Nikolai has the distinction of having created the very first CK3 AAR on these forums, Norgesveldet 2.0 – A history of the Norwegian kings. As that AAR has already been completed, I mention it by way of an honorable mention.

Now, no sooner had @Nikolai completed Norgesveldet, than he moved on to yet another interesting tale, Watching From Afar, which is the AAR I have chosen as the next recipient of this award. This AAR is unique in that it is based entirely on observation of the AI without the intervention of the player. The narrator recounts the strange events that occur in this world, as the game spins an ever more idiosyncratic alternative history by its own volition.

Please join with me in congratulating our good friend, @Nikolai, a truly excellent AARlander.

What an excellent choice. For my sins I do not venture into Stellaris much so I was unfamiliar with Creature and Watcher (where apparently people have seen them before) but they do seem interesting characters. The entire idea looks to be an interesting setup and well worthy of a read. In any event, congratulations @Nikolai .

Thanks again all! I'm a day late, as I managed to get sick this weekend, but fear not - I won't skimp my responsibilities!

I find it after five CK3 wins that it is time to venture out. Out in space, that is, where a new AAR has materialised recently. @Sharkrat has just got through the background for their AAR "The New Era of Discovery", and this story is the new weekly AAR showcase!
