Given that this is the fifth CK2-AAR in a row picked for Weekly AAR Showcase, I'm suggesting that the next one be a non-CK2 AAR. Other games deserve some love as well, after all.

And as much as I love CK2 AARs, I agree with @Qorten that other games should get some attention too. There are deserving AARs that aren't set in the middle ages.

Many congratulations on a well earned showcase, @JabberJock14. It does not seem that you lack viewers, but any new ones are certainly deserved for the fine tale that you have been telling!

For those who don't hang out in the CK2 forum or haven't checked it out yet, my AAR is a narrative-driven story. We do things slowly - I written over 120 parts so far and we're still on the original character - Foulques IV of Anjou, paternal great-grandfather to Henry II of England and ancestor to the Plantagenet dynasty - though we are slowly getting to the end of his time. (He was also the father to the Angevin king line of Jerusalem - his son gained the crown through marriage). It's long story already, but I've been told that it goes by quickly.
My ultimate goal with this AAR is to successfully recreate the Angevin Empire, or something comparable. But I'm also open to going with the craziness of the game, and plenty of crazy has already happened so far. So, if you like character-focused stories that feature Iron Dukes, intrigue or AI-controlled children that complicate things by trying to seduce their close relatives, come on over. We would love to have you.

Well, it's time to pass this along. But as noted earlier, it's been CK2-heavy lately and should go to another game. However, I have not yet read any other AARs from other games. So I throw it open to nominations from those who have, though if I may make a request that if possible it go to a narrative style/story AAR since those tend to be my favorites. (And I will likely check out the winner next!)

I'm going to nominate @RossN's L'Empereur est mort: A French AAR (Victoria II) for the next showcase award. With his strong, imaginative prose and his attention to detail (especially to elections) I've always considered him to be a master of the "historical narrative" format, and I've enjoyed his work immensely for many years.

Congratulations @RossN ! I have followed the AAR since the day it started in 2016, and it has been a pleasure to read it and with it see the history of France evolve, from the middle of the reign of Louis-Philippe, through the troubled July Monarchy and into a new Second Republic. RossN is skilled at tying the historical characters we all know and love with the alternate history that unfolds, and does not hesitate to show the thorough research that is done in the writing. A well deserved nomination for a historybook genre AAR at its finest.
Congratulations @RossN! Your AAR is masterfully done and the history book-style, which otherwise runs the risk of being dry, works smoothly and is a joy to read. If more real history books were as well written, I am certain that history would be a more widespread interest!
