The showcase is a good way of bringing attention to new AARs, but also a good way of reminding people about established AARs that have had a bit of a break, or that are on older forums.
The AAR I would like to showcase is one of my favourites, but is slightly hidden as it relates to Victoria 1. Is it worth reading an AAR based on Vicky1 when Vicky 2 has been with us for a while? Absolutely YES, as a good narrative AAR goes far beyond any limitations of gameplay.
This AAR has been going since 2007. There are historybook elements, but the overriding componants are narrative (thriller, dectective, historical). It is one of the most well-written AARs I have come across, and retains its cohesiveness and quality despite the variety of material it contains.
