To moderators / devs: Would it be possible to stick this thread, so people can easily see it? Thanks !

UPDATE !!!

Changelog:

-Complete rewrite of code
-Added possibility to vote for a request !

Soon to come: I will spend the next few days working on a function for devs to actually comment on individual requests so they can share their thoughts. I've tried to get in contact with some teams members but haven't got a reply from them yet, this feature will really depend on their willingness to participate.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys,

I keep seeing threads on the forums popping up trying to regroup all feature an improvement requests for the team to include in future patches. Although those threads are in theory really good and useful, years and years on the internet have taught me that they never last. The author looses interest and the list is not kept up to date.

this is why I took 2 hours of my day to code a small PHP script so that people can dynamically add their request to a list on the page and devs can then have a look at the list and see what needs doing.

The advantage of this over a topic is that first, everyone can participate and update the list. Second, it will never stop being updated because everyone has access to it.

Once a patch is released, then outdated requests will be deleted to make room for newer requests.

the address for the script is:

http://speedking.eu/cim/index.php

I have added some myself by browsing the forums, but feel free to add yours if they are not in there.

PS: Bare in mine that there are no registration needed to access and update the list, however if people abuse the system, I will be forced to ask people to register and enter captcha (nobody likes those so please guys, i trust you to behave :) )

I see people have started adding their own requests to the list, keep it flowing guys, we need the devs know what to do :)

Post your requests here as well if you want to know what we think ;)

I am currently in the process of entirely recoding the page, my aim is to include the possibility to vote a request up or down, for the dev team to comment on a request (i will give them special access rights), and some other bits and pieces which will make the whole thing more pleasant and useful.

I do aswell, I might try to contact them via their "official" email address, see if I get a response.

In the meanwhile, I'm glad to see that people are embracing the voting function =D

Hey, weird, the page loads fine here, and my data shows that I have had traffic on it all days with no interruption. Have you tried to refresh the page/delete your browser's cache?

This is a great idea, too bad paradox doesn't supply such a script already. Which all the buggy games they release you'd think they'd have figured this out ?

Anyway more to the point you should add the possibility to merge 2 suggestions (admin only). For exemple: "- Add possibility to create "indented" bus stop, so that buses no longer block traffic" and "- Station isle for bus to avoid congesting the whole road" are the same think AFAIK.

Simply adding votes would be the fastest. If you want to be strict you'll have to check the IPs of the votes to only add votes if the person didn't already vote for both suggestions. It might be easy or hard depending on how you're doing the check.

Every vote is stored along with the voter's IP so it would be easy for me to only add votes from the same person =) I am currently changing the vote part of the page so that it updates in real time (AJAX, if that means anything to you).

since most internet users have dynamically changing IP adresses the assumption one IP == one person doesn't work most of the time. just go the easy way and simply add the votes imho
