I'm just wondering if there will be any effect (visual or otherwise) of the various times of year: snow making mountain passes inaccessible, good or bad harvests in fall, etc., etc. A visual representation of the seasons on the map would be lovely, though I don't expect that.

At the moment we don't have weather or seasons.

The more detailed game is the more alogical it is. Let's imagine there is good system of seasons. So I get great attrition when I move army during winter, right? When does the winter starts - it's important cause I just can capture a province and mantain a status quo during winter. Is it on determined date? If no, can I forsee when it starts? (it would be stupid if I couldn't)? Does it come at full force (from today you lose 15% of your army monthly)? And the most essential: could it be effectively used in gameplay? I can't imagine a way to make it good without adding some hell to micromanagement. If you do, say it - and I hope we'll get a better game.

Have you played EUIII? Then you have already experienced winter and winter attrition :) But unless you play in terrain map mode (which most people doesn't do) there's a risk you miss it.

Yes, I've almost missed it. And you've spent time to add it while it affects game so little we don't see it.

Little effect? Ever tried to invade Russian provinces during severe winter? ;) But I agree it's a shame you don't see it/notice it in other than terrain map mode.
