When the game was released I had a bit more time to play and to create a spreadsheet like https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SRTbz_N--eXK66yucdrfh6WlrLOM8sLusgJ9Gg3o0lc/edit?usp=sharing. It's now a bit outdated, but I'm going to update it after 1.3 is released.

I didn't look at it much when I recently got back to the game, it was more helpful when I was creating it.

However, when I played recently as US, I was trying to get the information about how and why pops support particular IGs (why so little Aristocrats in US give so much clout to Land Owners?).
The Wiki (https://vic3.paradoxwikis.com/Interest_group#Political_strength) says:
Individuals inside pops contribute political strength to their interest group of choice, with the amount they contribute again dependent on multiple factors, the main ones being their material wealth and the status (and/or votes) they are offered under the nation's power structure. For example, a single wealthy aristocrat in an oligarchy provides hundreds or even thousands times the political strength of a poor laborer.
Tooltips didn't give exact reason WHY given wealth give particular amount of power and by looking at random pops, I found the relation is not linear.

Long story short - the relation is stored in common/buy_packages/00_buy_packages.txt and the values have changed in version 1.1.

Here's the graph:

So it was more linear in 1.0.3 starting with wealth ~= 28 and in 1.1+ there's visible wealth value where the increase is much higher (~45).

I hope this helps when you want to know the internal mechanics ;)
