I dont know if someone has already posted this idea.

I know people usually love when they inherit another christian tag for free. But it seems weird to me that the overlord is forced to unify the realms due to RNG. Some of us could want to keep them separated, be it for roleplay reasons or even strategical ones.

IMHO there should be an event instead, describing that "<junior PU tag> wants to integrate into our realm; should we accept?". "Yes". "No".

Do you agree or disagree?

PS.: before someone say "just release again as a vassal", they are not the same thing. Neither for roleplay, nor for strategy, since a group of PUs have much lower LD than a group of vassals.

I won't pretend to be well-versed in how this worked historically, so this is solely from a gameplay perspective: yes, I'd like that, for the reasons you mention --- in my case, mostly roleplay and some strategy and/or laziness ;)
Above all, I don't see your suggestion doing any harm and as far as I can guess it shouldn't be difficult or tricky to implement either.

What do you mean, there already is an option, it's called task manager

That does not work in this case. I believe there is a hidden number associated with a ruler, which is used to determine whether or not to inherit a PU upon death.
No matter how many times you savescum, you will obtain the same result every time.

Also Don't increase dip rep if you don't want to inherit

The chance to inherit can change, but in my Austria campaign I inherited 3 PU's by abdicating my ruler. Reloading save and abdicating again produced the exact result several times.

I am not 100% sure, but then again its PU mechanics so all that is kind of iffy.

thats actually a thing
there is a chance of inheriting throne for each ruler AT START OF HIS LIFE
no matter how many times you savescum you will never inherit that 3 devolpment land unless it was destined upon birth of your ruler
I think its someting like this:
Upon birth your ruler gets a number from 1 to 100
if its %49 chance to inherit your ruler inherits throne if number picked between 1 to 49
if its %2 chance its 1 or 2
that might be also the reason behind sometimies you inheriting bunch of thrones too ... maybe you rolled a 1 which inherits all that is possible to inherit

I am not sure at all. But lets say, the number decided at your ruler's birth was just about sufficient to inherit with a high dip rep. But when you savescummed and your ruler died later, your diprep first dropped, so the number rolled at birth of the ruler was not high (or low) enough anymore for the inheritance. This would explain your outcome without contradicting, what makaramus said. This would mean: usually savescumming does not help, as any minor change in dip-rep, that might occur, would in most cases not make the difference between inheriting or not. However in edge cases it might still.

To OP: I agree!

IIRC, Atwixi's guide states that roll for inheriting a PU changes just like the chance of getting a PU, meaning that you can go from not inhereting when a ruler dies to inhereting if some things change (like a new Curia Controller).

However, it's been a long time since I read the guide and I never payed too much attention to PUs.

Yeah probably curia controller recalc
