I can not remember any serious issues i had with week 1 dlcs since Conquest of Paradise. Day 1 i remember a few, one or two, thats true though. If only the DLCs worked fine on day 1 or at least week 1. Every new DLC is worse than the previous. This was the last time I buy a DLC on release day, although it was kind of mandatory due to the pay-wall anyway.
Hearthstone has a fine system in place and it's not pay2win either. You either pay with money or time. How is that not generous?LOL.
If you take a look at The Sims from EA and Hearthstone from Blizzard, you will realize how generous Paradox is.
Especially Hearthstone. Almost zero development cost, yet absurdly high income earned.
As someone who has worked at paradox for a long time I feel its time someone stepped up and told the dark sad truth.
Yes, its true. back in 2007 before the release of EU3, we spend the last couple of month chopping off all of the expansions. The art programmer complained a bit when we downgraded the map as part of cutting out Divine Wind and some are still not sure if that was a good call, but of course how else would we have been able to squeeze every last dollar out of our customers??
In fact, one of the reasons it took so long to get going on EU4 is that we had to wait for Johan to crash all of the paradox sports cars before we could be allowed to get off the couch and work again. Dont worry though we spent over a year cutting out DLC from EU4 before release so I'm pretty sure we can just lazy around for another couple of years now!
I'm afraid that A LOT of people is going to take you seriously and quote this for years to comeAs someone who has worked at paradox for a long time I feel its time someone stepped up and told the dark sad truth.

I believe he was referencing War in the East and War in the Pacific.Whats WitE and WitP ?
Heartstone is totally p2w. And this is the undeniable truth else people would not spend their time on that thing to have a chance to get a legendary or that other op card, but play it casually and only when they feel to, with a well thought but completely common deck. Don't put ability behind a jungle of paywalled cards that you only have if you're a beta player and lost the subsequent years of your life or a money waster, both roles being bad. A lot of my friends are wasting real money to catch up on the game, i played against them and lost ofc (heartstone = face hunter with naxxramas expansion, 22,50 euros with mastercard and you can win the game), but i'm so happy to not have invested a cent on that game because it's an experimental mouse cage imo. The only ones i'm envying are Blizzard because they created a system in which for an entry on their online database you've to pay real life money. They basically made their own bankHearthstone has a fine system in place and it's not pay2win either. You either pay with money or time. How is that not generous?

This was not me! It seems someone jumped on the joke I presented..................... (Shakes heads)
I wrote my own "Final count down" mod for one of the older iterations of WitP.
USS Nimitz vs the whole Japanese navy, it was pretty awesome.
