Having played 1.9. Whilst i largely find it inferior to 2.8. I liked how many wargoals there were. Just add more cbs. A few ideas include- Open borders. And a new diplo action. Request open borders. You could use this on any empire with closed borders. If they refuse you get the open border cb on them. Or the stop atrocities cb for xenophiles. Or if your materialist and have ai rights you should be able to liberate ai.

I agree. I was thinking isolationist-stance empires should get a version of the xenophobe FE's CB to keep the space surrounding their borders clear.

Each of the diplomatic stances could probably get a CB. Mercantilism could get one to force commercial pact acceptance and open the country up to trade.

Stop atrocities, liberate slaves, liberate AI, ban AI. Maybe even something like "return populations" for xenophobes which give back all of your primary species pops, or forced commercial pact for megacorps.

Of course, for something like "stop atrocities" you'd need to actually know that those atrocities are going on, which would tie well into the espionage update.

edit: Also, unrestricted war should be actually unrestricted and still allow liberation wars.

Also why not a "Support machine uprising" Wargoal for machine empires that arent servitors. For when there is a machine uprising and you want to support it.

Idea. Guarantee neutrality wargoal. Could be used agianst any non allied empire. When you suceed this would not enforce claims. But it would force the empire to switch to the isolationist diplomatic stance for 15 years and force them to break all diplomatic pacts besides non agression pacts. And prvent them from reforming them for 15 years.

While were at it add more diplomatic options. For example "ask for guarantee of neutrality" Or "Gift fleet"

One CB i've created for a personal mod is "Shatter" it fragments all sectors in an empire into successor states, randomly assigning free-systems to the nearest sector(this bit is a bit glitchy but Oh well)

More CBs like that, which shake up the face of the galaxy could be cool.

If you want some really weird, potentially broken ones -
Spiritualists could get a "Ban all research" one that dis-assigns scientists for 10 years, preventing you from re-assigning them to do science.
Pacifists could get a disarm one that forces all of the losers ships to go to the nearest friendly starbase and re-fit to remove all weapons. no weapon-enabled designs can be built for 10 years lol.

While were at it the plunder wargoal should give alloys and consumer goods aswell. Mabye you could choose how much you want depending on your enemy's war exaustion and your war exaustion at the end of the war?

Porque no los dos?
Because a machine rebellion isn't something that is actively being campaigned for or even necessarily a thing until it is. It's a bunch of semi-disparate networks, rouge droids/synths, messages passed through code loopholes. I mean after the machines have risen they are a thing, but at that point the war is already ongoing, and support for it should be through a diplomatic effort to join the war, rather than a separate war being declared.

While those elements are still building and preparing though, it'd be totally doable to send in supplies, compromise additional networks, maybe even influence what form they will take if they succeed.

Eh, supporting a machine uprising should be an espionage activity, not a war goal.
Why not both? ]:->

EDIT: Just saw the other post raising this very valid point. And can't figure out how to delete this post. Is that not possible?

A pacifist spiritualist empire can't declare war on an uprising AI empire. When it comes to machines killing fellow souls, there shouldn't be any procrastination.

A pacifist empire (or any empire?) can't warrant the integrity of a "fleeting" FE, even if of the same ethics.

An empire can't warrant the integrity of another empire if they are not friendly. Why? You can be in bad terms with them, and still prefer their (tamed) neighborhood to the next empire's that will swallow them.

Any chance of Shatter reaching the workshop? Sounds cool.

There’s a mod on the workshop which adds the “demilitarise” wargoal, success gives a percentage reduction to naval capacity for 10 years.

I'd like to support this and add:
  • multiple wargoals (for example humiliate + despoil)
  • negotiate partial surrender
  • Join ongoing war
  • Leave ongoing war (without it ending for other parties)
  • All empires surrender individually in ongoing war (no more surrendering your allies territory without their say so)
  • War propaganda edict that reduces war exhaustion
  • Better liberation war outcome, don't create megacorporations
  • Allow "defensive wars only"/fanatic pacifists to claim territory during peacetime.

A lighter variant of this: give defeated empire a temporary civic "Vassal Society" and turn all fragments into vassals of the former core sector. At least, this should disrupt them for quite a time. No need to replace former civics, just add one.

Interesting idea, though its probably cleaner to do this by giving the breakaway states a special origin, the game does funny things if you try and forcibly add civics, traits, perks if already at a point cap. Also the game doesn't seem to support 2-level deep vassals or "vassals of vasssals" (unlike ck2/3) so I think vassalising the main state (if you haven't already) would give you all of those vassals anyway.
