I'm loving the game but the lack of bridges is starting to cramp my creative style. So far we only see 3 bridge types with little to no control over what we end up with and the suspension bridge does not always line up correctly with the cables visually detached from the design. Can we please get more bridge options or open up modding capabilities for them? Thank you.

This is what I'm talking about with the suspension bridge in some cases. It should be more parametric like in SC4.

I agree completely. I've never really liked the suspension bridge. It's ok for relatively short distances, but I won't allow it to have more than two towers (otherwise it look stupid, one tower looks stupid too), which mean I could really use a bigger suspension bridge type. Preferably something modern, but a classic model would be nice too. I kind of like the arch-bridge, but they get tired rather quickly if you're not careful, and unfortunately they are not available for 6-lane avenues either... Also an option to toggle "bridge augmentation" off would be appreciated.

Hope CO will look into it and see if anything can be done to make it more flexible.

I'm a little surprised by the lack of bridge options/styles... but I know they were more focused on the rest of this game. But it's odd to me that this wouldn't be something open to modders to take and make it better. It would have been nice to have the option to upgrade to other styles by clicking on a bridge. Also it's annoying that they lose their style when curved.

My other complains is the lack of being able to snap one ways together both in roads and bridges. It's odd having two separate bridges next to each other that don't match up where the towers are. It doesn't seem like a hard feature to implement, so it's odd that it wasn't made that way. I would like the have highways that you could snap together and even control the width of the median. Right now my cities look like a kid was drawing the roads next to each other.

This also goes for trains. Would love to see better bridges and the options for one way tracks... and the ability to snap the tracks side by side.

I agree for the most part, although I am glad for the time being (given the situation) that decorations disappear if you slightly bend the bridges... Otherwise I fear the issue would prove just too great for my OCD to handle. It would absolutely become game breaking for me :p

I'm not sure whether suspension bridges actually are bendable in real life. Don't think they are, at least not that way. But I rather have a bent suspension bridge than a classic suspension bridge with anything but two towers. So much for OCD ey?:D

Would be nice to have more options and a way to chose which bridge u want, but this has in no way priority above improving traffic behaviour, roadoptions, trams, improvement of public transport etc..

Having tried the few mods out there trying to address this I find the options limited. You either end up with a "fake" bridge consisting of a park asset and a road using the no pillars mod or reusing a different stock bridge style ie. having the railway bridge put under a road.

If CO could make a bridge framework in the asset editor and perhaps a nifty menu like pollux_ar suggests I believe the modding/asset creation community would take care of the rest!

I've also tried some of the 'park' bridges and they are very fiddly to use - it's difficult to align a road with them in 3 dimensions. It would be great if there was a customisable bridge feature that made it easier for asset authors to make their bridges more dynamic and automatic. Would be great to see some stone bridges, both big (eg. victorian england style) and small (for over small rivers, etc).

Yes to this, they could take a hint on train fever's method of selecting the type of bridge.
Pic removed...

Yes. Pick the bridge and drag easily, which I was thinking about a bit later. This is how it was in the old Transport Tycoon as well. It definitely makes things easier and of course a lot easier than the Cities XXL where you lose a bunch of money trying to get the bridge right!

If I had to stop every time I want to build a bridge it would get quite tedious. How about something like this...

You draw roads/bridges as normal, but the bridges initially appear as holograms of whatever the default bridge would be for the length/height of the bridge. If you don't do anything for a few seconds, that bridge will be used and built. However, while it's in hologram state, you can click it to cycle through the available alternative designs. While mouse is hovered over holobridge, it pulses between hologram and proper render so you get a clearer idea of what finished product will look like. So you simply click through available states then after short delay the chosen bridge is built.
