100% agreement, and Paradox had it in Vicky, too. It just broke the illusion of reality to see seomthing "poof" into existence because that was the way it happened at that date in history, despite the fact that history in the game had taken several major turns in the road and could no longer reasonably be expected to produce that event.
What I would like to see is something very much akin to Magna Mundi Gold for EU3/NA: a mod that is meticulously researched for all the might-happens and could-bes in history, and applies these if a host of triggers occur, first. Nothing feels out of place. Events are many and historical, within the context of history-as-you-make-it, not history as it is no longer relevant to your current game.
Given some of the excellent modders already at work in Rome, I suspect we'll see a project like this once the game settles down into some semblance of balance.
