Is this supposed to happen to non-rulers? Some courtier is at -10 gold and gets a chance to loan thousands with the scale effect.
It will probably be changed in the first beta for 1.06.

its funny right now, as my court gets these sickly 5 year olds who pay 10 gp for some quack cure, and so go into debt. and a bit later they then wind up getting bankloans of 8000 gp. and if they die in childhood, dad then becomes very very rich.

lesson: have more sick children.

I agree that it is way too exploitable. Even if it's just some random courtier, I always take it as it may end up with one of my vassals or so and help them to build lots of province improvements.
