...And so I am vindicated! Thought the Teacher. Yet again, I have managed to nurture a once merely decent mind to greatness. Now, as to his posting... In all fairness, he ought to get an easy posting, yet the fact remains that he could use a challenge - something to stimulate that weak memory of his. Something that would make him finally learn decent manners, and, incidentally, how to remember important peoples' names...

"Wyvern, it is my pleasure to announce your graduation with honours from the WCfD Class of ´02. I have spoken with the authorities, and it seems that a very important world has recently been opened up for conquest. Your mission, should you choose to accept it (and you will, the alternative being, as usually, death), is to lead the vowelless lancers of Kxkllkmmt'hf in their war of survival against the Arragagoridianist Linguists of Upper Yoouuyia in the Popopopopopo'po system (unfortunate name, that).

Given that the weapon of choice of the Kxkllmmt'hfs is a conjugated verb mark I, whereas the opposition is using the both ablative and genitive in violation of several Intersystem conventions, you will have your task cut out for you. But you will persevere, for your personal glory, and for the glory of the University - or you will die trying.

My parting present to you is a Dictionary and I say to you truly: In Hoc Signo Vinces

Now, Go Forth, And Conquer!

1) Emulating me in trucebreaking at this stage of your conquests was not your wisest decision - since I was deliberately trying to stimulate a civil war (or at the very least plenty of rebellions) for narrative purposes.

2) And ICFtM is not a WC-AAR. Had I done my manpower studies earlier, it might have turned into such. As it is... Well, I'll finally have time to update a few times next week, so you'll see :D

Yes I guess I do jump about a bit with the grammer. Long time since I did any writing like this. Was it that bad?

Still cann't find Ebessen in the dictionary Professor :D

1) Emulating me in trucebreaking at this stage of your conquests was not your wisest decision - since I was deliberately trying to stimulate a civil war (or at the very least plenty of rebellions) for narrative purposes.

I did it for a couple of reasons really. Firstly I was really bored by the time only China was left, and secondly when I hit 1700, I decided to see if I could win by 1719, so completing it in 300 years. Didn't quite make it, but I needed to keep setting myself new targets to maintain the interest.

Ah, you can say this now. Peter Ebbesen not doing a World Conquest AAR. Doesn't compute! :D:D

Wow. Started reading your AAR now! Great job, conquering the world in the start of 18th century! I'd love to see more WC quests from your side!

I'm very impressed on your 1620 screenshot of Europe, for me this would be very hard to fulfill.

All this talk of simulators makes me think of Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game."

Maybe in some planet far away, Wyvern has successfully lead humankind to victory over a group of evil, bloodsucking insectoids, thus saving our own species!

Yay Wyvern.

The human colonists that heagarty was controlling...weren't so lucky.

But then again neither were mine...;)

USA Patriot - Thanks for reading and the feedback. Not sure I'm up for another WC just yet, I'm toying with writing an AAR from a multi player game perspective, perhaps an existing one, or perhaps starting a new game for that purpose if there are other writers interested in joining in. It will have to wait a few weeks though due to holidays.

Lt. Tyler - Ender's Game - Great book and sequels! Now you mention it there are similarities though I wasn't consiously drawing from those novels. The main source for my character came from Louis McMaster Bujold and the Miles Vorkosigan character. You gotta love the little Admiral.

Carolus Rex - I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I was very unsure how it was being received by everyone and whether my interludes away from the actual game action were working.

Do you really want to see a screen just covered in one colour?

You do? Ok then here's the final screen from the Chinese region at the end:
