About Claiming the thrones : remember you need to have a RM : since you're Poland, you're christian, and can't marry China. So, no RMs, no Claim the Throne, and no DA.

Royal marriages and claiming thrones saves neither stability nor diplomats. It uses more of each. It only save badboy, which you no longer care about.

I tried to be ironic about RMing with China, but as now I see, I was quite inaccurate with my proposed solution and the joke did not sit well. So what I indended to write that to claim the throne to get a CB I need:
1. FA China
2. Convert capital province
3. Release as vassal
4. Cancel vassallization
5. RM
6. Claim the throne.

In fact I have a CB againts China because of an embargo and I can get a second CB again as long as they have at least one CoT. I am not sure about this but I would not be surprised if it was true: If I compete away someone else's merchants frequently, then I have the chance to be embargoed, even if the country in question does not have a CoT. In this game I am embargoed by Sicily, with whom I only interacted through merchant competition.
