I'm sure it is if you abuse HRE, which is entirely possible as Ryukyu. Plus there's an exploit currently (if it's not fixed by now) that allows you to be a westernized protectorate (=no coalitions).
I don't think it is fixed. They might fix it for 1.9 though.

Here's my Austria non-one-tag WC finished in 1654, and this is with a ton of play mistakes (spent the last 4 years looking for countries that I missed):

TpmgYK7.png

Protectorates combined with much more flexible vassal feeding means I would be not be surprised to see a more proficient player finishing a fast revoke Austria WC in ~1620. Once you get expansion CB you can mop up the ROTW in ~13-15 years.

Did you trucebreak a lot at the end?

In 1.8 is not possible to sell provinces (even if cored by the overlord) to subjects if the province is not within their colonial range.

Yeah, I know. I was talking about selling provinces to make connections over water, like selling Egypt/Arabian provinces to the Italians or even having some go around Africa using your colonies. It'd be easy enough to repeatedly fight the Mamluks and return provinces until you get a bunch of countries on the Indian ocean.

Have you found yourself truce breaking that often or does the 'no joining a coalition during a truce' allow easy staggering of wars to prevent any meaningful coalitions? I'm thinking of going back to Sunni for my Ottomans attempt for the unify Islam to get -stab capped. It would only work out to about a 9 Adm reduction (from 19 to 10) and be a lot more work than just staying Orthodox, but I don't know if I'll really need the reduction or not.

It seems that World Conquest in 1.8 is even more difficult than before:

* Many more provinces - especially in West Africa and North Africa
* AIs in Africa and other regions westernizing faster -> can't protectorate vast swathes of territory means multiple wars conquering the same territory
* AIs in New World colonizing more frequently and westernizing

A difficult feat made impossible? Maybe that was one of Paradox's goals?
Don't know if its harder, you just got to adapt your tactic.
Stack -warscore province cost bonuses (frm exasion cb and vassal reconquest CB and diplomatic idea group), and spread the overextension over vassals. In theory you can annex Ming in one warthis way, if they got high autonomy, and spread all their provinces among nearby vassals.

You simply need to adapt tactic for WC now. -% coring cost isn't important anymore. Expansion, diplomatic and influence ideas and diplomats for integrating are important now.

Is it possible for me to steal Perm's vassalage from Muscovy without having coring range for Perm?
yes, but it is not a priority. If you can make Muscovy lose its land connection to colonized Siberia, all the overseas provinces can be annexed at 1-2% warscore each

I'm not sure about that. The problem with Ryukyu isn't revoking , but expanding fast enough in the first century while falling behind in tech severely. An anti-coalition-exploit might help, but still...you are so damn weak....

8 trucebreaks in the final protectorate blitz, 3 of which were to take down GBR. Not a lot compared to pre-1.7 WCs in my opinion.
