Do you always marvel at the stupidity of the logic of the AI when they are taking provinces? Are your eyes bleeding when you see, say, a single country split up in 5 parts?
What Paradox could implement to eventually soften it a bit :
- an algorithm for the values AI appoints to each province when proposing peace and/or making claims/occupying. This would be based on how many of their provinces the target province borders. So, for example, when a province of AI1 is bordered by 5 provinces of AI2, and another two are bordered by 3 provinces of AI2, AI2 will be much more likely to take the first province than the other two. This also applies to claiming and could also apply to missions.
- an event happening when a province loses it's connection to the capital (doesn't apply if they are connected by vassal/master's land). Then, the owner should lose the core on the province or it should flip to a neighbour, possibly with the same culture, if not, same culture group, and if not, anyone. This would stop these abominations.
The border gore will probably still be there, since it's impossible to remove, but these two tweaks might help a little.
Let me know what do you think about my ideas, since they probably aren't perfect.
