So I built myself a custom map and put a medium sized town on it. Played the game on it for a while with about a dozen different lines. Now, I would like to add some terrain and maybe another town onto the map, via the editor but I don't see a way to load my existing save into the editor. The only thing I can load is the map before I started playing on it. Anyone know if there is a way to load my save into the editor?

I think there is not because the editor does not support lines and vehicles which have to be simulated in the day/night-cycle.

ive seen player made maps that when i open them in the editor there are already placed bus stops and depots so there must be a way. I'm guessing it's simply to move the saved file to the place where editor maps are kept and maybe rename it to the .map extension if need be. But I've not tried this myself. The new hayford map has bus stops already on it when i look at it in the editor so there is definitely a way to do it.

I tested doing this and it works... one way.

You can rename the .save file to .map and the editor will open it. However, it will kill the simulation and all the vehicles will freeze. Converting the .map file to .save and opening it again will bring up a nice error screen and the vehicles will still be frozen, as expected.

I tried creating a new sandbox game using the modified map but the same error will appear.

Try C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\LocalLow\Colossal Order\Cities in Motion 2\

In there you will find folders for each map type; saves and editor map.
