I just heard in the livestream that you can't diplo annex puppets. But, in the interest of a neat, uniform coloured map and full control over everything being a possibility will we be able to do this somehow? I didn't like how in Hoi3 you were locked into your puppets with no way to release them or annex them or just mess around with them.

2nd question about puppets: will they revolt against you if they're far stronger in a region and see a chance to gain something? Specifically I'm thinking about "beaten" nations like Nationalist China who've been made into puppets and might have ambitions on lost land.

Also Communist China which was fine in Hoi3 is now called the "People's Republic of China..." for some reason...not historically correct.

Yeah, I'd like there to be some way to deal with your puppets. I always hated how in HoI3 when my USA tried to bring freedom to the world they could never manage to bring freedom to Liberia or the Philippines in adequate amounts

I too want to know if puppets can vie for independence, or successfully fight for it without factional support. Otherwise, playing as India will be a huge drag, and I probably will never touch India with a 10 foot pole unless there is a mechanic for me to declare my own independence...with a nasty fight of course.

I too would want that. But not only for puppets, what if you had occupied a country and later on decides that you instead want to annex it? It should be possible in my opinion - no matter what the government in exile thinks - the GIE should still exist though, not like in HOI3 - other nations might not, as they most likely dont acknowledge the annexation and still thinks of the country in question as occupied. This could lead to revolts, unrest and raised tensions of course.

I asked that yesterday and was told that you can leave a faction if you are a member, and that they are discussing if abandoning/kicking members out of factions should be possible as well. I really hope so and see no reason why not. They could make it so that all faction members leave and maybe found their own one if you kick one out, which would be quite a logical reaction.

I don't think we ever heard a word about puppets and independence wars though.

At least my very first game is already decided: Play Italy in the tutorial and continue the game normally, join the Axis and help Germany. Once all enemies are dealt with (depending on if you can leave your faction while still at war or make seperate peaces), leave the axis and seek for World domination. I think that guarantees quite some fun.

Agreed. Also, as an idea, Communist China should have the flag of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, and then switch to the flag of the PRC and be renamed as such if/when they win the war.

This sucks but if you had to choose between one you obviously have to go with the CCP flag and Communist China name as the PRC is outside the game's timeframe.(barely)

This is just my suggestion to improve the game. Is it possible for HOI4 to give us the option to be released and not a puppet of any country just like Philippines and other countries?

And other option like make your own custom nation forces? (This will make the game more fun for us) And how about improving the pictures (generals, president etc) for southeast asians and other countries matching our culture formal wear like our president wearing barong something like that rather put a random generic caucassian guy into it. :|

Thanks to HOI4 for improving japan nation with japanese generals etc picture. I hope you guys consider this and improve our countries function (to be playable) which you're not really focusing on but really i hope you would. We really need a system like in HoI2 for swapping provinces diplomatically to come back, just refined. When I played around a bit in HoI3 to prepare for modding 4, one of the things that really wound me up was that the game assigned provinces in a silly way, then you were stuck with it even if all nations involved would have preferred a trade.

Never use the phrase "shouldn't be that difficult" to describe a task you expect someone else to do unless you have a reasonable level of knowledge of the system in question.
