I kindly suggest anyone replacing me should join as Byzantium. It would suck to be playing a country with no controlled territory and only 6 divisions of infantry trapped in Morea.

In any case, I'm definetely not going to play this Thursday. My computer died over the weekend, so obviously...

I'm not sure, but we might want to add something like this from Uni II:

Culture claiming:
You can claim any culture in Europe by owning 30% of the total number of provinses or 10 provinses of the culture for 30 years.

that way claiming a culture is very easy. especially claiming major cultures should be very hard.

what about this:
You can claim any culture in Europe (or if its connected by land to your capital) by owning 50% of the total number of provinces of the culture for 30 years.

I recon you are right as we are so few players, it should be a bit harder to claim cultures.

KJ will sub me on the 12th, i'll make certain that he had the files and so on. I'm not sure how good a host he is, but one of you has to be.

Question is what nation is most important. I still believe than an OE, even in the current state which can be dealt with easily is far better than BYZ. But don't we have a much larger powervacuum in the north?

Wasn't wari supposed to play Sweden, after all, all of Brandenburg and Scandinavia is currently free of players and could certainly use one.

i have a question concerning the points-edits:

im not sure if i use the right province.csv to find out the province ID´s. in the pointtrackerthread Aladar asks for edits in "Genoa (ID403) 8p and Kaffa (ID398)". But in my province.csv ID 398 isnt Kaffa but Corsica. So do i use the wrong file or is it a fault from Aladar?

Well i will again advocate for a nation in the north rather than BYZ/OE.

Currently there is no player in Holland, Brandenburg, Denmark, Sweden or Poland, which leaves a wast area available to a new player. And since you can aquire new cultures any of the nation, well apart from Holland which is overrun by England and France, you'll be able to carve out quite a nice empire up there.

And Russia needs someone to hold it back from taking all those nice provinses or we'll end up with a larger than ever Russia.

for a balanced game we need both a nothern player and byz/ottos. too bad we didnt know byz player quits, so i would have taken ottos from the beginning. ottos are much more important than russia is and its more fun to play. but now im acclimatised to russia and not in the mood for switching.
