And the fact that only a small minority of betas requested it.

I'll get a poll up after release, and if we get a few thousand votes for it to be added, i'll make a really good one for the next week in a special hotfix.

Thanks very much for listening to us, even the more angry elements. Me thinks some 'regular' gamers need to be beta testers, not hard core modder types.

I don't get it. Who doesn't like auto sliders? And why?
That was one of the main reasons why I got Doomsday way back.

I mean is there actually people who like to change sliders after each measly production order completed, after each production tech upgrade or IC built, each damn dissent or each reinforcements/upgrades needed. My fingers hurts even now remembering that clicking in original HOI2. Goddammit!!!

I agree;
during peacetime, I used to manually maintain the sliders, but as soon as war started, I activated auto slides because it was a micromanagement hell to keep up with the always changing reinforcement and upgrade #

That was one of the best features of Doomsday, I am puzzled that it was not included, maybe there is a better way of doing it in HOI3?

I agree

Just letting Paradox know, to be ready with that hotfix that fixes the slider issue, so the game remains playable without checking the slider every few days. I expect the hotfix to be ready and published on the 7th. I don't want to eat that IC loss. At the very least make a simple rule that IC wasted is no longer counted wasted but as if it were producing supplies. Supplies can be used for something all the time and later you can underproduce supplies to regain the IC. I can't imagine an easier issue to fix from a programming standpoint.

I hope we get that fix

I'm also pretty surprised auto sliders isn't included in the release version. Especially since that seems like a typical thing that'll score negative in reviews.

I fully agree on the first part. But I can assure you there wasn't an overkill of modders being made Betas - as I recall it was an open application rather than anything else. None of the CORE team members made the bar for one, and we had several in the HoI2 Beta team previously... Lothos obviously is an exception to the rule, but fully understandable given his AI background. I'm sure some modders made it to HoI3 beta, but not exclusively so...

To me it is a really useful feature. For those of us who micro-mangage it speeds the game up a lot. Thanks for listening to us (makes sound in throat) even when some of us forget to say please

Locking to needed value would be nice addition as well, fixing most of these problems.

(Lock consumer goods, production, reinforcing and upgrading to need, and let everything else go to supply production... that would be almost perfect)

Imagine telling someone 10 years ago that 10 years hence they'll be playing the third installment of a real-time geopolitical sim/wargame about World War II on divisional level in hour-long increments, and that this game will be real, not vaporware or a drug-induced hallucination

Those days, when we wanted to change the sliders, we had to walk to Stockholm and kindly ask Johan.

On bare feet. In a Blizzard. Both ways uphill. Not to mention the wolves.

I remember the manual slider micromanagement being one of the most annoying things about HOI2 Vanilla, and when it was fixed in the patch it just felt... natural might be the best word? Kind of like "why wasn't this here the entire time?" The fact that many people have this issue (if this many people post on a thread on the forum, I can only imagine that there are many many more people who don't use this forum that have the same problem) I don't understand why a poll is necessary. Considering that implementing this feature has no sacrifice for the player (it can be ignored) it can only lead to better reviews and more sales+income, right? ;) Demands like "on the 7th or else" are definitely extreme, but it shows how important this feature is to some people, and those are the people who pay for and make these games possible in the first place.

I’ve never used auto-sliders in HOI2, but I will vote “yes”. I like new features, and maybe I’ll change my mind. If not, I won’t have to use it. :)
I didn’t like counters before I had to try them (my old PC was too slow to run TRP mod with sprites), and I’ve never gone back to sprites again. :D
